What kind of things are there to do that involve wearing formal attire?

I have a very nice formal dress, that i have only worn once. I would really like to have the opportunity to wear it again.
I cant think of any type of events in my area that require formal wear.
I live in Wisconsin but would be willing to go as far as Chicago Illinois.
Any suggestions?!
I like your idea, but i was thinking more like for a couple.

Maybe a nice dinner with friends, you could plan an evening out where you all got dressed up. I’m sure a lot of your friends have some nice clothing they have that they have only worn a few times that they are probably looking for an opportunity to wear again.
